Samurai School Martial Arts for Kids
Samurai School is a self defence orientated martial arts system based on the traditions and practises of both the Ninja and Samurai warriors. Samurai School is an introduction to the study of Budo and how it applies to modern living - developing respect for self and others, discipline, esteem, team work, goal setting and the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle.
Samurai School wishes you a Happy New Year!
Martial Arts can help children to develop self esteem, respect, self discipline, balance & coordination, flexibility, strength, team work and leadership skills to enable them to contribute positively to the community as they grow. Click on the image below to see our most recent demonstrations.
Samurai School is a fun and safe environment where children aged 5 - 14 will benefit from a combination of Eastern Martial Arts and modern personal development techniques. It is for both boys and girls; did you know that girls often possess greater agility, speed, and flexibility then their male training partners? This can often give them a natural advantage in the Martial Arts.
Samurai School was developed for children in January 2005 by Sensei Robert Armstrong a 4 Dan instructor in Ninpo Goshinjutsu Mu Te Jinen Ryu developed by Soke Bo Munthe 10 Dan. Our curriculum includes martial techniques from some of the oldest known systems of Martial Arts including Ninjutsu, Jujutsu, Judo, Aikido and Karate.
Areas of technique include; verbal self defence, rolls, break falls, blocks, releases, throws & takedowns, strikes and kicks. Our training is self-defence orientated and does not involve fighting/sparring.
"In order to understand what another person is saying, you must assume that it is true, and try to imagine what it could be true of." Miller's Law
"The deepest purpose of the martial arts is to serve as a vehicle for spiritual development." Zen in the Martial Arts - Joe Hyams
"SUISEI-MUSHI" To be born drunk and to die while still dreaming. Ki in Daily Life - Koichi Tohei
"SEISHIN TOITSU" When the spirit is gathered
"When we are completely established in non violence then all beings around us cease to feel hostility" Unknown
